John Fisher graduated from the Molecular Cellular and Biophysical Studies program at Columbia University where he studied the genomic packaging elements of retroviruses. John did post-doctoral studies at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals where he examined tyrosine kinase receptor genes. He has authored papers in several major scientific journals. He then spent nearly ten years in biotechnology working at Advanced Viral Research Corp. (ADVR), where he headed both the Virology Department as well as Director of Information Technology, working to seek approval from the FDA for ADVR’s lead drug. Since then John has been with Touro College of Pharmacy in the department of Pharmaceutical and Biological Sciences where he teaches several introductory courses as well as coordinates two elective courses.
