Deborah Williams, M.D., Ph.D., began teaching at Touro College of Medicine-Harlem eight years ago as an Associate Professor in Pathology. Now, as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences at Touro College of Pharmacy (TouroCOP), she teaches Foundations of the Biological Sciences I and II. An avid researcher, her scholarly interests focus on the pathological influence on disease and disease prevention and treatment.
Approximately sixty pharmacy preceptors arrived at the Touro College of Pharmacy this past week for an Evening of Appreciation and Preceptor Development Workshop. After some light dinner, student volunteers—under the leadership of the SGA (Student Government Association)—met with their preceptors and thanked them for all their dedication in a short appreciation video.
Last year, Assistant Clinical Professor in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Practice Dr. Nataliya Shinkazh organized the ADA-StepOut Walk, which raised $3,000 dollars for the ADA. This year, she was one of the faculty supervisors for the 2015 ADA-SNPhA Diabetes Expo at the Javitz Convention Center. We spoke to Dr. Shinkazh about her expertise in diabetes, passion for teaching, and love of Kung-Fu.
