Roberto Maldonado is the Health Disparities & Community-Based Outcomes Research Fellow at Touro University College of Pharmacy’s Center of Excellence for Pharmacy Education and Pharmacist Services. His work focuses on advancing pharmacist-led interventions that improve access to care, promote medication safety, and address structural drivers of health inequities in medically underserved communities.
His professional experience spans ambulatory care, chronic disease management in skilled nursing facilities, community pharmacy practice, and transitions of care across major New York health systems. His public health work includes implementing community wellness initiatives, evaluating medication access barriers, and conducting outcomes-focused research at the intersection of pharmacy practice and social determinants of health.
Dr. Maldonado’s scholarly interests include medication safety, health disparities, antimicrobial resistance, community-based program evaluation, and policy approaches to advancing health equity. He has presented his work at mid-year and regional conferences and contributes to interdisciplinary research aimed at expanding the role of pharmacists in population health.
