Mariaelena Di Leo, Class of 2029

Hi! I’m from eastern Long Island. Before attending Touro College of Pharmacy, I completed my prerequisite coursework as a Chemistry major at Stony Brook University. My passion for pharmacy grew through both academic and hands-on experiences, particularly while working at Walgreens Pharmacy, where I gained valuable insight into patient care and medication management. Attending information sessions and connecting with current students and faculty at TCOP confirmed that Touro was the perfect fit for me.

As a commuter from Long Island, I understand that balancing travel, coursework, and personal life can be challenging. Since long-distance commuters make up a smaller portion of our student body, I hope to be a resource for anyone who shares that experience, whether you’re looking for commuting tips, support, or just someone to talk to about managing the transition. Outside of school, I love to de-stress by reading long novel series, exploring new genres, and spending time with friends and family. I’m excited to connect with everyone, share my experiences, and help others feel confident and supported throughout their journey here at Touro College of Pharmacy!
