About Us
Since opening the doors to our Harlem campus in 2008, the Touro College of Pharmacy has offered a truly unique educational experience. We emphasize hands-on learning, extensive rotation practice experiences, and service to the community.
Experiential Education
Our four-year Doctor of Pharmacy program equips students with all of the practical skills and knowledge they’ll need to succeed as pharmacists and clinical researchers. The curriculum combines time in the classroom and controlled practice environments, as well as in the field, completing rotations under the supervision of faculty mentors and professional health care providers.
Community Care
We are dedicated to public health and community service.
Our students help coordinate and participate in health outreach efforts in neighborhoods across New York City, to minimize health disparities in underserved areas. With the help of a five-year $3.3M award from the federal Health Resources and Services Administration, we established the Center of Excellence for Pharmacy Education and Pharmacist Care Services (COE) to further care for the community. The COE is focused on students and faculty -- particularly from underrepresented minority (URM) groups -- to practice and teach in community-based healthcare settings. Through these placements and other COE programs, we hope to address minority health issues and social determinants of health so we, and you, can better serve our communities.
Personalized Instruction
Your future comes first, and you’ll have many opportunities to work closely with experienced faculty and network with a variety of healthcare providers. We believe in working with each individual student and encourage close interactions between students, faculty, and staff.
By the time you graduate, you will have developed the competencies and the confidence to start your career as a licensed pharmacist. It's why 98% of our graduates are employed after graduation.
